A$AP Rocky’s transition from underground phenom to chart topping rap star can be largely traced back to 2013. A little over a year separates A$AP Rocky’s debut mixtape, LIVE. LOVE. A$AP, from his debut album, LONG. LIVE. A$AP; the time between these projects was brief, but allowed Rocky to drastically widen his appeal to the mainstream. While not a completely stacked tracklist, LONG. LIVE. ASAP charts itself to new heights behind inescapable singles and seismic collabs with several new-age great rappers. Despite this, Rocky delivers a solid set of deep cuts that incorporate and expand upon the outlines of his early work, featuring the versatility and ambition that made him a star. – DeVán (7.5/10)

Community Reviews:

On Rocky’s studio debut he proves that he can provide a mainstream appeal while still catering to pure hip-hop fans. Rocky’s Houston influence is less heard on here, and he’s accompanied by several of his peers who deliver some great features. In 2013, Rocky was at the top of the rap world, having more to prove in his acclaimed trilogy. – @calderschwartz (8/10)

The start of a new sound that has rocked the past decade. – @zain.guthrie (7/10)
