A living legend, or a dying star? What do you perceive in the Rorschach Test that is Eminem’s ninth album? However you may feel, Revival is a hallmark of the post-2010 Eminem era, as epic or tragic as that may be. Having always been controversial and embattled, the thrust of this record is Eminem finding new axes to grind, and finding the difficulty in keeping the internal flame of inspiration going into one's middle age. With so much time, space, and buildup between albums, Eminem’s urge to address anything and everything in a fury of emotions is too much to resist. Short of a few sunbreaks of passionate and effective songwriting, Revival largely boils down to its sense of an identity crisis from one of the world’s most recognizable artists. – DeVán (3.5/10)

Community Reviews:

Overhated, has some great songwriting. not his best but not his worst. – @zain.guthrie (7.5/10)

Yeah, no. Very little helping this album. Mix 2010's Eminem corniness with bad beat selection and bad features and you get, surprise, one of the worst albums of all time. – Benji (2/10)
